Rachel Britton '18
Major: English (Creative Writing)
Career: Britton is a writer/editor/translator pursuing an MA in translation studies from the University of Iceland in ReykjavÃk. She recently published her first book of poems in translation from Icelandic, A Woman Looks Over Her Shoulder, by Brynja Hjálmsdóttir (Circumference Books, 2024).

Why study literary translation at Geneseo?
This minor offers students the opportunity to expand their reading horizons globally while developing practical, intercultural skills that work across languages. Departmental connections to literary translation presses allow students to engage with practicing translators and works-in-progress as they explore literature from a range of cultural traditions and languages.
