LMS Data Management Procedure

Scope

This is the CIT procedure on the dates course, and enrollment data will be imported, updated, and purged from the University's learning management system (Brightspace). This policy applies to all persons accessing or using the LMS. This includes students, faculty and staff, authorized guests, and all persons authorized for access or use privileges by the college, hereafter referred to as users.

Note: Requests to manually create a course or user account in the LMS that is a duplicate of one that is or will be created in the University's database (Banner) will not be honored.

Important Dates

Important Dates Fall Spring Intersession Summer
Courses, Faculty, and student enrollment begin in the LMS May 1 Dec 1 Oct 1 March 1
Student Access begins automatically 12:01am first day of classes
File updates throughout semester (adds/drops/changes) 3x per day
Disable Courses  -- students no longer have access Two weeks after last day of semester
Purge Courses and Enrollment
We keep courses available for instructors to see for approximately 1.5 years after loading them.  For example, they will have Fall courses available to them until the Fall semester ends the following year.
